A

1,2-Hexanediol
A synthetic preservative, humectant and moisture binding agent and is also useful for dissolving other substances. In our products because Honey is such a wonderful natural humectant and we use many other botanical natural humectants to hydrate your skin, it is most commonly used in our skincare products as a solvent. As a solvent, 1,2-Hexanediol has the ability to dissolve ingredients, such as botanical extracts and pigments, that might otherwise not diffuse evenly throughout the product. However, as an added bonus in our formulations because of its hygroscopic capabilities it enhances the long term moisture retention capability of the product.

Glycerin is a natural component of healthy skin. Glycerin is hygroscopic, AKA a humectant.
