Hey Honey, we know the world of skincare can seem a bit daunting, especially when you just. It kind of seems hard to get into, doesn't it? Well, we're going to give you some quick and easy tips to help with your very own skincare routine.
Start With One Product At A Time
It's day one! You don't need six products to start. Plus, everyone's skin is different and you have no idea how your face will react to the new products. So, we recommend adding one new product at a time and waiting a few days in between trying each product. Occasionally, you may run into a new product that causes breakouts or skin irritation and it's best to take notice of that and switch to something that works better for your skin.
Take a second after each product to see how your face feels. You might not see immediate change, but does it feel a little softer? Does it seem to be a little brighter? Take notice of these things and see how it changes with consistent use.
One of the most important things about getting into skincare is using sunscreen. Essentially, by using sunscreen, you prevent a lot of the skin problems from ever occurring instead of trying to fix it after the damage has been done. Honestly, even if you're going to be inside most of the day, it's always a good idea to wear a light layer of sunscreen.
You can either apply your favorite sunscreen or look for a foundation with SPF. Whatever works for you! Personally, I like them separate, but that's just me.
You should really start with exfoliating once or twice a week. It's so important to be gentle to your skin, especially when it's not used to all the scrubbing! Cosmopolitan actually wrote a fantastic article about this where you can see some of the signs that you're over-exfoliating and what you can do to fix it! Change Your Pillow Case
Did you know that it's recommended to change your pillowcases every two days? Well, we're here to tell you all about it and why it's in a skincare tips for beginners blog post.
The thing about your pillowcase is that they trap a lot of oils from your skin and hair in the pillowcase and it can cause acne. Also, from the dust in your air, you can even get dust bunnies in your pillowcases. So, changing out your pillowcases as often as you can not only helps your skin but it helps your allergies.
