Transitioning Your Skin From Winter to Spring

Hey Honey, now that it's finally March again we can officially say that spring is right around the corner! We know that the fall and winter seasons (especially these past few months) can be really harsh on your skin, and we want to help you transition into spring with healthy skin. A big part of this transition means a change your skincare routine. Follow these three easy steps to make it as smooth as possible.

1. Lighten Up
While hydrating your skin is always a good thing, you should switch your heavy formulas for products that are lighter and water-based as the weather warms up. Our skin tends to hold more water during the spring and summer months, so we won't need to supply it with as much hydration. One of our favorite springtime moisturizers is Boost It Up, whose lightweight formula enriches the skin without leaving behind a greasy.

2. Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin aids in keeping it healthy in many ways. Clearing away dead skin cells unblocks pores and prevents buildup. Using a gentle exfoliating cleanser, like Come Clean, rather than a harsh scrub is the way to go in the spring because the higher amount of humidity in the air leaves your pores more open and receptive to products and their effects.

3. Practice Spring Cleaning
Just like with your house and your closet, spring is the perfect time to refresh your skincare and makeup supply. Be sure replace all your expired products with fresh ones. When a product expires it can become a breeding ground for bacteria, leading to clogged pores and dull skin. The same goes for your applicators, such as brushes or beauty blenders. Give them a wash at least twice a month with a gentle soap to prevent a buildup of unwanted germs.
